Scientific work of the Department during its existence was carried out in three directions:
- Development of methods of compression of speech signals in digital form, on the basis of the theory of filtration and extrapolation of the non-stationary random processes. The methods are a further development of methods of linear forecasting and zabezpecuji same degree of compression that standard G.726, dramatically reducing the amount of computation performed compression-decompression.
- Development of new principles of correction and demodulate based on the statistical theory of mixtures and creation of the corresponding algorithms. The researches have shown the feasibility of the proposed algorithms in the optical, electrical and radio links. They provide the performance, close to potential, and , however, require on the order less computational effort.
- Development of principles of construction of algorithmic interpreters. On the basis of the results created the original visual system of the automated designing of algorithms (system “Algorithm”), which allowed us to radically change the methodology of study of programming discipline “computer science”.
