In an integrated system of Science Education and Research Institute for Information Protection DUT scientific and technological activity of the department is aimed at:

forming rational learning process of students in the field of knowledge 1701 - "Information Security" and its practical implementation;
development and implementation of modern scientific methods and information support to the educational process of the department;
carrying out research and development work related to the creation and implementation of security policies in information and communication technologies, research on the development and improvement of encryption technology information, research methods and means to improve the survivability of ICS under the impact of cyber attacks and so on.
