Mobile telecommunications and digital television systems

According to this specialization specialists are formed on the leading edge  technologies of mobile communication and  high-speed Internet access, interactive television, mobile television and Internet-television for the cellular operators «MTS Ukraine», «Kievstar G.S.M.», «Astelit», different providers of Internet services,  Broadcasting, radiocommunication and television concern, State enterprise the «Ukrainian state center of radio frequencies», Governmental service for the special communications and information security.        

       Studying for this specialization a student obtains a possibility:

• to get fundamental theoretical preparation on the hardware-software complexes of both modern and perspective mobile telecommunication and broadcasting systems providing multimedia services;
• personally in-practice to carry out editing, tuning, adjusting, in-depth operational capacity testing, putting into operation facilities and equipment of new generation mobile networks and digital broadcasting;  to carry out calculations according to the technical project for new generation mobile networks and digital television and broadcasting, systems and installations of radio communications in accordance with  specification requirements;
• during studies to get practical in-depth knowledge in innovative technologies in creating and disseminating television media-content at the Inter TV channel;
• to take exams to gain competence certificates from the leading companies of wireless access and digital television such as Wаtson Telecom, Sattelecom, Cisco and leading operator of cellular communications Astelit (brand name Life:).

        The graduates from the specialization are competent to work in technical departments of enterprises of different forms of property and occupy the followings starting positions:  an engineer in setting up and maintaining mobile communication networks; an engineer in planning of mobile network and its optimization; an engineer for broadcasting network planning and optimization; an engineer for television and radio broadcasting programs, an engineer in audio and video editing with a television and radio company.

Innovative technologies in educational process for the specialization.  To  secure practical training «Center of advanced information and telecommunication networks» is created, which is one of the most modern in the country. It is set up with assistance from  leading domestic and foreign companies – ZTE, Ericsson, «Kievstar G. S. M.», MTS-Ukraine, «Quant-Efir» and others. The center was inaugurated on November, 27, 2007 by the Secretary-General of the International telecommunication union (ITU) doctor Khamadunom Ture.  On the premises of the Center in the laboratory called «Modern networks of digital radio communications and cable television» the leading-edge mobile communication equipment of the companies Ericsson and Nokia is installed, while the technical and software support is supplied by the mobile operator Kievstar G. S. M. Technical foundation for the laboratory of «Perspective technologies of mobile multimedia content transmission» includes the mobile CDMA2000 platform from ZTE company, broadband  wireless communication of IEEE 802.16e standard from Alcatel-Lucent network, the latest equipment for broadband radio-access RadWin 2000. The possibilities of laboratory complex allow us in practice to study innovative radio systems of high-speed mobile access to the Internet; mobile television and technologies of mobile video-content delivery. On the premises of the laboratory «Digital television and broadcasting» an educational hardware-software complex on processing, transmission and broadcasting of digital signals of the systems of digital television standard DVB-T/S/C is set up, which permits to carry out practical training on digital television signal forming, peculiarities of digital television networks laying, innovative digital technologies for creating, producing and releasing of speech programs, non-linear videos-editing with in-depth scrutinizing the content down to separate operations and steps and so on.

             At the chair of Radiotechnologies scientific school has been created under the leadership of the laureate of the State prime of Ukraine in the area of science and technologies late professor Zaycev G.F. On the base of these foundations his close colleges – professor Sayko V.G. and associate-professor Rodionov S.S.- continue to create unique tailor-made courses for high-quality preparation of future specialists in this area of technologies.
